A 41-year-old New Fairfield woman was killed around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Brush Hill Road when a tree fell on her vehicle, pinning her inside, said Connecticut State Trooper Sgt. Eric Haglund.
Haglund said the woman's 3-year-old daughter was also in the vehicle but was not injured.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Danbury Hospital. Her daughter was also transported for observation.
A Danbury man was also killed by a falling tree while walking to his truck during the storm in the Candlewood Lake Area, according to Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton.
The names of the deceased have not been released.
Several other people are reportedly being treated at local hospitals, including one person who was at Henry Abbott Technical High School when he was hit by a piece of flying roof.
